Shelly, Reina Takahashi, Emily Tong, James Lee, and I worked with FreeRide a local bicycle non-profit to help them tackle major information breakdown issues.
The staff members explained an issue where overcrowding led to long waits outside of the shop. They asked us to create signage and pamphlets at the front of the shop to disseminate information so that customers could unnderstand FreeRide and how to work effectively with the organization
I created these workstations to be used as learning tools for the most common tasks that volunteers face when the seek to rebuild a bicycle. These stations will not require any staff members to spend time explaining the bicycle fundamentals (as they are under-staffed), and provide a space for customers and children to boost their skills and test their knowledge.
